4th period
Group 1 - Rhyme A rhyme is something that last syllables sound like each other, such as wow and now. The words don't necessarily have the same ending letters, such as though and row. A rhyme is important in poetry, because it makes the words flow better. Songs are often judged on how good the lyrics rhyme with each other, and how much they make since. Rhyme is a big part of our cultural society today, and it will continue to grow.
"Way up North,
where there's ice and snow, there lived a penguin
and his name was Joe."
I was walking down the street
I stopped to get something to eat.
I saw my friend with a crooked smile
And stopped to talk to him for a while.
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
Dance it out in tarantella
Let it out to keep your head
Lock it up and burn it over
Keep it quiet
Keep it dead.
One night, Katie Did took a trip to the beach.
She took her umbrella,
two books, and a peach
